Generally calcareous. Typically massive or weakly bedded; weak to strong blocky structure. Locally laminated. In places intertongued or interbedded with marine sand and gravel (msg). Stiff; plastic and slippery where damp, tough and intensely fractured where dry. Generally clast free; local dropstones. Calcium carbonate concretions common in places. Tests of saline or brackish-water molluscs common Gullies common to abundant adjacent to major streams. Very susceptible to landslide activity; mudflow deposits locally abundant. Karst features common where deposit is thin over limestone or dolomite. Includes many small areas of wave-and current-washed till (tic, tdh, ts) and some areas of outwash and ice-contact sand and gravel (gg, kg) and marine sand and gravel (msg, md). Locally overlain by alluvium (al, asq, aln), dune sand (ed), peat (hp), or swamp deposits (hs). Thickness generally 1-4 m, locally more than 70 m.","comments":"","macro_units":[],"strat_names":[],"liths":[2,3,4,18,30,39,93],"t_int_id":3,"t_int_age":0,"t_int_name":"Holocene","b_int_id":492,"b_int_age":0.129,"b_int_name":"Late Pleistocene","color":"#F9F97F","t_age":0,"b_age":0.129,"best_int_name":"Quaternary","scale":"medium"},{"map_id":944853,"source_id":7,"name":"Mesoproterozoic metamorphic and undivided crystalline: paragneiss","strat_name":"","lith":"metamorphic and undivided crystalline: paragneiss","descrip":"","comments":"","macro_units":[],"strat_names":[],"liths":[78,120],"t_int_id":258,"t_int_age":1000,"t_int_name":"Mesoproterozoic","b_int_id":258,"b_int_age":1600,"b_int_name":"Mesoproterozoic","color":"#FF7EBF","t_age":1000,"b_age":1600,"best_int_name":"Mesoproterozoic","scale":"small"},{"map_id":3185044,"source_id":154,"name":"Mesoproterozoic sedimentary rocks","strat_name":"","lith":"marble","descrip":"","comments":"","macro_units":[],"strat_names":[],"liths":[90],"t_int_id":267,"t_int_age":1200,"t_int_name":"Ectasian","b_int_id":267,"b_int_age":1400,"b_int_name":"Ectasian","color":"#FF98CC","t_age":1200,"b_age":1400,"best_int_name":"Ectasian","scale":"tiny"}],"refs":{"7":"Garrity, C.P., and Soller, D.R.,.
